Job Description

Reporting to the Installation Engineering Manager, you will supervise a team of installation engineers based out of our new Waltham Hub.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising the engineering team to ensure it operates as efficiently as possible, supporting the monitoring and control of training and absence.
  • Assisting with and leading weekly tier meetings to ensure all deadlines are achieved.
  • Working with the Installation Engineering Manager to ensure the department is correctly structured and staffed with suitably skilled and trained engineers to meet workloads geographically and efficiently.
  • Creating and maintaining an audit schedule, including van and stock checks, ensuring every engineer and contractor is audited for quality, efficiency, and safety at least once per year.
  • Conducting spot checks on installations to ensure standards are consistently maintained.
  • Supporting the Installation Engineering Manager in monitoring and managing engineers, including timekeeping, mentorship, discipline, and appraisals.
  • Training new installation engineers, trainees, and apprentices.
  • Delivering refresher training for existing installation engineers.
  • Contributing to the ISO Business Management System.
  • Undertaking additional tasks as directed by the Head of Projects when required.

What Will Set You Apart?

  • NVQ in Specialist Occupations (e.g. Door, Gate, and Shutters) – preferred but not essential
  • Experience supporting or mentoring colleagues, trainees, or apprentices.
  • A collaborative approach to leadership, with the ability to support senior management decisions.
