Where It All Began
Our story starts in 1953 in Switzerland, when Helmut Heinz Bunzl, inspired by his father's vision for more hygienic, touchless entry, developed the first prototype of an automatic swing door. That same year, he founded what would become Record. With early expansion into Austria, the company set the tone for a future defined by ambition, innovation, and international growth.
Decades of Engineering Excellence
Over the following decades, Record introduced industry-first technologies – from radar-activated sensors to microprocessor-controlled systems. With a focus on modular design, reliability, and robust engineering, we built a reputation for quality that still defines us today. Our headquarters in Fehraltorf remains a hub for innovation, with a legacy that stretches across Europe and beyond.
