The Door Group (or Division) of ASSA ABLOY is looking for a Production Control Manager to join our team. This position will play a critical role in ensuring that production schedules, materials, and logistics remain aligned to support operational efficiency and customer delivery commitments.

 

This is an onsite role that should be based out of our Grand Canyon Service Center located in Phoenix, Arizona.

What would you do as our Production Control Manager?

You will be responsible for overseeing production planning, materials management, scheduling, and inventory control to ensure manufacturing operations run efficiently and customer commitments are met. Acting as the central point of coordination between Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and Logistics, you will ensure production schedules align with capacity, materials availability, and customer demand.

You will also:

  • Develop and manage daily and weekly production schedules aligned with manufacturing capacity and customer demand
  • Coordinate closely with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to ensure raw materials and components are available when needed
  • Monitor inventory levels, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods to maintain accuracy and support efficient production flow
  • Analyze production backlog, material constraints, and capacity limitations to proactively adjust schedules and avoid bottlenecks
  • Lead and develop team members responsible for production planning, materials coordination, and logistics activities
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, and Sales teams to manage schedule changes and ensure clear communication across the organization
  • Track and report key operational metrics including schedule adherence, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and production performance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen planning processes, improve operational discipline, and support overall plant efficiency
  • Support warehouse and logistics operations to ensure efficient movement of materials and finished goods

 

The Skills and experience you need:

  • Experience in production planning, materials management, or production control within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory management
  • Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, and customer-facing teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex production environments
  • Experience leading teams responsible for planning, materials, logistics, or scheduling functions
  • Comfort working in ERP or MRP systems and using data to drive operational decisions
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to align multiple stakeholders across the organization
