As our SETUP/PROCESS TECHNICIAN you’ll support HID’s success by:
Summary
The Process Technician is responsible for plastic injection molding operations by supervising material handler, mold setup, ensuring press and robot functionality, and following up on production efficiency and quality. Lead process improvements, maintain documentation (SPC, cycle sheets, logs), track daily production orders, and drive 6S implementation. The role requires collaboration with the Process Engineer on tooling, materials, and continuous optimization. Secondary tasks include quick troubleshooting, mold improvements, and other assigned responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.
- Responsible for mold setup, process parameter setup (as per cycle sheet) & machine startup.
- Verify all quality aspect meeting requirement & monitor closely, including yield update.
- Cycle sheet - update each time running production.
- Process log to be recorded every 4 hours.
- Work Order Status is recorded clearly
- Follow up on SPC implementation/recording
- Track daily production order and work on improvement to eliminate any variances.
- Lead production team on daily activities and ensure the quality of part produced meets specifications and maintains the 6’s implementation
- Supervise and support MH accordingly.
- Closely follow up on production schedule and support process engineer to achieve low downtime and rejection rate.
- Work with Process Engineer for new tools, modification, improvement, transfer and new material development.
- To take up new responsibilities as and when required to do so.
SECONDARY TASK
- Execute the quick improvement for process, press, mold and etc.
- 6’s Improvement.
- Supporting others or perform task as assigned in IM.
Qualifications
- Good understanding of production / manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Molding process knowledge with hands on, vertical injections or insert/over-mold processes will be an advantage.
- Mold setup and start up machine + robot activation
- Molding machines knowledge
- Plastic injection molding resin knowledge
- Identification Technology product knowledge – an advantage
- Good understanding on the improvement tools (Lean tools).
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good in problem solving skills
Education and/or Experience
- Diploma/Vocational/Certificate in Technical academic or technically related field.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working in Plastic Injection Molding process.
- Plastic injection molding mold set-up, startup & monitor production (vertical + insert/over-molding)- an advantage
- Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking – Essential for troubleshooting and making process improvements – an advantage
- Leadership - Lead production team (e.g. Training, Mentoring setup, MH & operators) -an advantage.
Language Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English verbally and in writing.
- Able to communicate in Malay language.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
