Manufacturing Engineer

Are you a results-oriented problem solver who gets energized by improving how things are made … not just maintaining the status quo? Do you enjoy digging into processes, analyzing data, and applying Lean principles to reduce waste, improve flow, and elevate cost, quality, safety, and delivery? Are you an experienced engineer, ideally with a background in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, looking for a hands-on role where your ideas matter and your impact is visible?

If you answered yes to these questions, we should talk!

Ceco Door, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is expanding our Engineering Team, and we’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join us in an on-site role based out of our Milan, Tennessee manufacturing facility.

*** Please note: We are not able to offer sponsorship for this role … now or in the future. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship. ***

What would you do as our Manufacturing Engineer?

You’ll play a key role in driving continuous improvement across operations. You’ll partner closely with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to identify opportunities, solve problems at the root cause, and implement practical, sustainable improvements. Your focus will be on process optimization, Lean execution, and data-driven decision making to help ensure better outcomes.

You would also:

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events, waste reduction efforts, and process optimization projects
  • Analyze manufacturing data (cycle time, takt, yield, downtime, scrap) to identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, safety, and delivery
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles such as standard work, line balancing, material flow, and equipment utilization to optimize manufacturing cells
  • Troubleshoot production issues and quality concerns using root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve manufacturing methods, workflows, and equipment effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain documentation including standard work, process changes, CAD illustrations, and improvement project records
  • Support new product introductions and R&D efforts by assessing manufacturability and production readiness
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards, including ISO 14001
  • Actively contribute to a safe, collaborative, and continuous-improvement-focused work environment
  • Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees
  • Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct

The Skills and Experience you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical experience)
  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or CI-focused role
  • Hands-on experience applying Lean Manufacturing tools with demonstrated improvement results
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or Pro-E required)
  • Experience in metal fabrication environments (presses, stamping, CNC, welding) strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude
  • Comfortable working with data, metrics, and engineering systems (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Self-starter mindset with strong communication, follow-through, and collaboration skills
  • Prior exposure to metal fabrication, hollow metal, doors, or building materials is a plus
