Ceco Door, an ASSA ABLOY brand, is looking to add a Senior Product Engineer. This is a full-time, on-site position where you’ll lead key engineering projects, champion continuous improvement, and serve as a technical expert in the design and development of hollow metal doors and frames.

What would you do as our Senior Product Engineer?

You’ll bring your deep technical knowledge, project leadership, and collaborative mindset to a role that’s critical to our long-term product innovation and operational success.

You would also:

  • Lead the design and development of new hollow metal door and frame products
  • Drive cost reductions, design standardization, and manufacturability improvements in existing lines
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on compliance standards and maintain third-party certifications (UL, Intertek, SDI, etc.)
  • Conduct engineering analysis, validation testing, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, OE, Procurement, Customer Service) across the product lifecycle
  • Support feasibility analysis for custom-engineered orders
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead VA/VE and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead or support Lean/Six Sigma projects
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and compliant work environment in alignment with the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct

 

 

The Skills and Experience you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Product Design preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in sheet metal product design and manufacturing
  • Direct experience with hollow metal doors and frames is strongly preferred
  • Expertise in metal forming, fabrication, welding, and assembly processes
  • Deep knowledge of UL, Intertek, SDI, NFPA, ASTM, ADA compliance standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and engineering analysis tools (FEA, DFMEA, PFMEA)
  • Experience managing third-party certifications and testing
  • Skilled in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and cross-functional project leadership
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Passion for mentoring and advancing engineering best practices
