Your Role in Keeping the Future in Safe Hands…
The Sales Engineer and Training Associate will be responsible for providing technical support for all Sales activities as well as training and certification to the Dealer, End-User, and certified channel of the PTI Security group. They will also work in cooperation with the Vice President of Sales in developing and implementing pre-sales, training strategies, and territory business plans to ensure revenue and certification goals are achieved.
The Sales Engineer and Training Associate will be responsible for developing new training and certification methodologies to meet/exceed growth expectations set by the company, as well as supporting existing clients identified within a given geographic territory.
What you will do…
- Assist the Sales team in defining PTI Security capabilities in customer meetings
- Provide in-depth knowledge of the PTI Security software and hardware to answer questions as they arise
- Research answers and follow up on questions posed that went unanswered
- Actively participate in demonstrations of PTI Security technology at customer sites and trade shows
- Conduct demonstration of PTI Security software and hardware
- Assist Dealer and/or end users to install and configure PTI Security technology for proof-of-concept projects.
- Train Dealer network in the proper installation and operation of PTI Security management software (StorID, StorLogix, ProEdge, AP1-series, etc.)
- Support sales by working on the architecture of key projects
- Develop awareness of competitor products and positioning, provide to Product Management product evolutions required to meet market demands, and market evolutions
- In close cooperation with Support, Program Management, and Sales, keep track of the final resolution of technical issues that impact customers’ operations, escalating the issues as needed to obtain the correct resources and solution to solve operational problems.
- Provide a weekly report of activities to the VP of Sales and Leadership.
- Manage all elements of the Sales Engineering and Training cycle within assigned geographic areas and/or product line
- Develop detailed business cases and ROI scenarios to document the value of pursuing potential opportunities and related benefits.
- Conduct market research to understand competitors and market trends.
- Provides innovative ideas and suggestions to improve the market presence.
- Maintain relationships with existing customers by gathering customer feedback leading to improved customer satisfaction, product development, and market analysis.,
- Provide input to product management, communicating the needs of the customers and the marketplace.
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of ASSA ABLOY / PTI products and technical architecture, industry characteristics, and competitive environment.
- Assist in responding to solution and product inquiries.
- Add a positive sales culture and a sales-centric atmosphere among the team members.
- Attend staff meetings, Users’ Conference, and other shows as required.
What we expect of you…
- Pre-sales engineer experience of 5 years or more in the physical access control industry or in a technical position with a strong customer focus/interaction.
- Bachelor's degree (IT/Electronics Engineer, marketing a plus).
- Good understanding of networks and information technology.
- Understanding of relational databases, configuration thereof, and basic database scripting skills (MS SQL).
- Fluent English, additional regional languages a plus.
- Customer focus.
- Must possess strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to communicate issues and solutions.
- Must be proactive to identify and anticipate client (end user customers/system integrators) needs and make recommendations for implementation.
- Must have experience in working collaboratively with business partners to effectively resolve problems.
- Must be self-directed and self-motivated as well as accountable for results.
- Must have excellent organization and time management skills which include planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to detail; must be able to understand and manage conflicting priorities; must have a proven track record for timely delivery of multiple parallel objectives.
- Must possess demonstrated verbal (including presentation in person and web-based) and writing communication as well as excellent listening skills.
- Must be able to build trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results, at all levels of the Organization; must be able to work in a team environment and to partner/interface with peers, sales staff and field technicians.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must be available and willing to travel extensively.
- Must be able to bring discipline to drive results and follow established fundamental goal.
- Must have the ability to submit accurate and timely reports as needed.
