About the Role
We are looking for a commercially astute Business Unit Manager / Branch Manager to lead our Peninsular Fire Doors business in Redcliffe, QLD. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is suited to a sales and project leader who understands the commercial construction market and can drive performance across customers, projects and profitability.
You will lead a small team across sales, estimating and project coordination, while managing key relationships with builders, architects and other project stakeholders. This is a hands-on role with accountability for tenders, pricing, delivery, margin and customer outcomes.
It will suit someone with experience in construction, building products, project delivery, branch management or operational leadership, with established connections across builders and architects. You will have the opportunity to lead a capable team, strengthen customer relationships and grow the business.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day performance of the business across sales, estimating, project coordination and customer delivery, ensuring the operation runs efficiently and commercially.
- Use established relationships with builders, architects and key stakeholders to generate opportunities, strengthen market presence and support pipeline growth.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities through customer engagement, market insight and active participation in tender and project activity.
- Drive pricing, margin discipline and sales performance to improve commercial outcomes and deliver sustainable business growth.
- Oversee tender submissions to ensure they are accurate, commercially sound, competitive and aligned to customer and project requirements.
- Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams to support smooth project execution, delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
- Support contract review, risk management and commercial decision-making to protect project outcomes and business performance.
- Lead, coach and develop a small team by setting clear expectations, driving accountability and fostering a strong customer-focused culture.
About You
You are a practical and commercially minded leader with experience in construction or building products. You may have come from sales, projects, operations, site leadership or branch management, and you know how to balance customer outcomes with commercial performance.
You bring credibility with builders, architects and project stakeholders, and can win work, influence specifications and protect margin in a busy project environment.
You will bring:
- Experience in construction, building products, commercial doors, manufacturing, trade supply or a related sector servicing the commercial project market.
- Leadership experience managing a small team across sales, estimating, operations or project delivery, with a strong focus on performance and accountability.
- Strong knowledge of the construction market, with well-established relationships across builders, architects and key project stakeholders.
- A proven ability to build trusted customer relationships, win work and grow revenue in a business-to-business environment.
- Project leadership experience, with the ability to manage timelines, commercial priorities, customer expectations and delivery outcomes.
- Strong commercial acumen across pricing, margin management, tenders, contracts and project profitability.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a practical and solutions-focused approach across customers, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
